Mini Homestead Happenings for 3/9/2009

Posted by Shannon L. Buck on March 9, 2009

Do you have cats? We have five. We love them like family, rather than pets. We spoil the heck out of them. Often, I have 5 cats sleeping on my bed with me, and they will even cuddle up with us when we are watching a movie.

These cats come in handy when there are mice about. Even though they are indoor cats. When a poor little mouse enters the trailer, it is tortured and killed. The cats are very happy about this torturing of the poor little creatures.

They will make great barn cats some day.

Of course, it is not always easy to work.write with 5 cats around. When they are in the mood for attention, they will not be satisfied until the get the love they are looking for. This means that they will sit directly on my keyboard when I am trying to work.

I am working on getting 10,000 or more steps in a day. I managed to do this three out of the last five days, by walking double the miles that I usually do. I have lost 50 pounds so far, figuring that I will be able to work a homestead better if I lose some pounds.

I have been eating a lot of salads and fruits, and less carbs. Carbs are not my friend.

I have one and he is the ‘baby’ of the family. He’s Lea’s ‘brother’ and thats how we treat him. He is spoiled! Gotta love cats!
