Mini Homestead Happenings for 1/15/2009

Posted by Shannon L. Buck on January 15, 2009

My niece spent the night last night. We call her Mouse and she just turned four. She is a cutey. We had a lot of fun, and she is the only child that I know who will play with bubbles outside during the cold winter months. Bubbles are her favorite things.

Skye (my daughter – 19) has been visiting since Tuesday. She is doing well, and it has been nice having her around. Mouse was surprised and delighted to have her here.

Zowie took me and her sister out to eat Tuesday night. The meal was great, then we all went over to Katie’s to visit for a bit.

It is so cold here in Maine right now, and I hear that it will get colder still. Just about time to pull out the exercise videos. I can’t walk outside on the coldest days because of my asthma.

Well, I hope that you are all doing well.

    How cold is cold?

I don’t live up north but it’s pretty chilly here too!

I have an aunt in Maine. I wonder how she fairing? They love the snow! I don’t think they love the cold. They don’t have electricity. The like it rough!

  2. LOL. Yeah, the weather man says the temperature could be as low as -12* tonight. I think it was like 5* or 6* today. It is cold. I hope your aunt has plenty of wood inside with her, if that is what she uses to heat her home with.

Oh, Asthma. I have asthma to perfumes and other harsh fumes…asthma is nothing to play with. Be safe.

  4. I will. I have issues with a couple of different perfume/cologne scents myself.

They have one wood stove in their house. I love visiting them. I’ll keep my visits to the summer. 🙂

  6. LOL! I wouldn’t blame you for that.
